Our story begins in 1962 with Eleykkutty, a passionate homemaker in Kannur, Kerala. When Eleykkutty was expecting her daughter Sicily, she spent her days crafting delicious pickles using secret Kerala recipes passed down through generations. The delightful aroma and unique taste of her pickles soon became the talk of the neighborhood. Neighbors couldn't get enough of Eleykkutty’s pickles, each bite bursting with authentic Kerala flavors.

Years later, Sicily, then a young girl in the 10th grade, began to learn the art of pickle-making from her mother. Eleykkutty shared every secret and technique, ensuring Sicily could replicate the exact taste that had once enchanted their neighbors. Sicily cherished these lessons, dreaming of the day she could share these beloved recipes with a broader audience.

For nearly six decades, Sicily perfected her craft, always serving her exquisite pickles to family and friends. She believed in the saying that "there is a time for everything." In 2024, that time finally arrived. Driven by a desire to let everyone experience the exceptional flavors of her mother's pickles, Sicily launched The Achar Co.

Today, our pickles are made with the same love and dedication that Eleykkutty instilled in Sicily all those years ago. From our home in Cochin, Kerala, we bring you a taste of our heritage, meticulously packaged and delivered to your doorstep with love.
